Dining at Auld Alliance
A taste of French cuisine in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park is a dining experience you won’t forget.
Our chef and owner Lydie Bocquillon, originally from Avignon, Provence, is a classically taught French chef. She trained in Burgundy, the home of French Gastronomy, and was mentored by some of France’s most renowned Chefs. No dinner at the Auld Alliance is complete without hearing one of Lydie’s culinary anecdotes.
Our dining room is on the ground floor and is stylishly decorated with French memories and art created by some of Lydie’s friends. Dining at the Auld Alliance is a relaxed and memorable experience with a meticulously created Set Menu which changes every day.
Our cuisine showcases Scottish and French produce, combining flavours from Provence and Burgundy and using the finest local produce whenever possible. Everything is prepared in the Auld Alliance kitchen from the moreish selection of bread to melting oaty biscuits. Lydie’s unique cuisine is a real gastronomic alliance of French savoir faire and top quality Scottish ingredients.
Our wine list is French with some interesting finds. Lydie chooses the wine carefully, drawing on a wealth, depth and breadth of knowledge that was taught to her at her grandfather’s knee. Monsieur Darbon, was a Maitre de Chais for one of the finest wine producers in Beaujolais and Burgundy- Domaine Chevalier. Lydie is only too happy to share her extensive knowledge with guests.
There is also a wide-ranging selection of malts and Cognacs for the most discerning palates.
